Full Height Shutters
As the name implies, full-height shutters cover a window or door from top to bottom. This type is a classical and popular shutter style.
When closed, full-height shutters give total privacy. As with all louvre shutters, you can adjust the slats depending on the airflow, light temperature, and privacy required. Full height shutters have an added benefit over cafe-style shutters as they reduce noise, and if desired, you can fold them back for whole window open views.
Like all our shutters, Diamond’s full height shutters are made to measure and suit all types of windows, including extra-large windows or bay windows.

Not only are they elegant and stylish, but full-length shutters are a classic design that fits in with almost any home decor. We genuinely believe that the right plantation shutters can transform not only a room but the entire property. Not only are our full-height shutters one of the most popular choices, but they’re also one of the most practical.
The term full height refers to the shutter covering the entire window or doorway. The shutter incorporates one complete panel from top to bottom, whether it’s from the floor to the ceiling or from the window sill to the window top.
Not only are panelled full-length shutters one of the most flexible to mount, but they’re also known for offering great flexibility in terms of functionality.
We often recommend that clients go for a mid-rail, which is a horizontal dividing rail, allowing for top and bottom shutter panels to move independently. This allows for true flexibility, giving users the option to control light yet enjoy privacy simultaneously.
The benefit of separate louvre control with a mid-height rail is similar to tier-on-tier window shutters. The significant difference being, however, is that you benefit from a solid full height panel.
Despite this recommendation, it’s worth remembering that configuration and style options are flexible to allow a certain level of individuality and adjustable functions. At Diamond Shutters, we also create bespoke wooden shutters so that you can enjoy interior shutters made to your exact requirements.
Traditionally, it was common to use small-sized louvres; however, this has changed in favour of larger panels and mid-sized louvres over the years. But regardless of current trends, we’ll create bespoke window shutters to suit your taste and requirements.
With bespoke full height window shutters, compared to off the shelf models, not only do they function better, but you’ll find they last much longer too. Being built to fit your exact window size furthermore means they provide insulation in the home, prevent outside noise from entering the house, and offer excellent light control.
